A brand new monomaterial structures suitable for recycling

Termoplast s.r.l., a leading company in the production of technical polyolefin films for flexible packaging, has developed new films with reduced thicknesses for the creation of monomaterial structures suitable for recycling. For two years ermoplast has engaged itself into the study of new structures able to satisfy the growing market need based on the new legislations in force concerning the consumption and usage of plastic materials.

These full-PE based films which, in combination with each other by lamination, give to the packaging mechanical characteristics comparable to conventional multilayer structures laminated with standard PET or BOPP and superior oxygen and water vapor barrier properties, therefore ensuring a lower environmental impact due to the reduction of thicknesses and possibility of RECYCLING. These multilayer monomaterial structures have been tested as TOP LID for trays, DOYPACK and STAND-UP-POUCHES, for the packaging of multiple food products. The packs produced have given excellent results in terms of thermal and dimensional stability and excellent sealing properties to guarantee an excellent packaging integrity.

These products are the result of the new technology developed by Termoplast called CRYSTAL. This technology combines the know-how acquired over the years in 9-layer coextrusion with high-orientation processes that allow perfect control of the morphology of the crystals in order to determine their peculiar characteristics.
